What’s a “Do Tank?” /The Idea Festival
I just returned on Sunday from this year’s idea festival where I was invited by the creative education foundation to design and facilitate "Do-Tank’s" for the GeekSquad’s "What’s your big idea?" nationwide challenge. A challenge put out to ordinary people to come up with ideas that would make a big difference to the planet!
So what’s a "Do Tank?" It’s a specially designed innovation session to help contest winners elaborate on their ideas and make them do-able! Click here to read about the contest and here to watch a 3 min video blog on the Do-Tank!
It was a great experience for contest winner’s, geek squad agents and idea festival attendees, not too mention for Doug, Mike and I to watch and help grow an idea from a seed to a fully elaborated, blown-out HUGE idea that is DO-ABLE.
If you are in the Louisville area, I invite you to check out the festival in 08!
Here’s what one participant, Jim Marquart said in an email to the creative education foundation about one of the sessions.
Thursday, 9/13/07 Louisville, KY
Gentlepersons: I just attended the morning session of “What’s your Big Idea challenge” conducted by Doug Stevenson and Russ Schoen from 10 am to 1 pm today and I must commend your organization for such an outstanding program. This should be a three hour required course of all preschoolers, all elementary school grads, all high school grads and finally, all college grads as a way to improve the quality of life and conservation of our planet. These gentlemen did an extraordinary job of inculcating idea creation from a diverse group of folks and were one of the most interesting experiences of my many seminars in 73 years. Thanks for one of the most thought provoking educational experiences of my life. Sincerely Jim Marquart
Interested in giving other people these experiences, let me know and I’ll point you in the right direction!
